Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.

On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.

Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:

Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week

This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anything else. Have a great week everyone and keep it low!!! Moozie x"

Good Luck Everyone

  • Well I've put I spent exactly £30 which isn't completely accurate. Money all got mixed up but didn't draw extra out so know I wasn't red. And even managed to put a small amount in my sealed pot. :D

Not sure on this weeks budget, off out in a bit so will work it out later.

Welcome along to anyone that chooses to join us.

    good afternoon!

Can i stick myself down for a fiver this week? It's the work Christmas party (pretty sure will need my own drinks) on Friday and i hope to make this week more tolerable with nice bits and pieces.
(fiver is what I have in my purse and I don't want to spend any more money until Friday evening)
    glad you're still green, ETO!

Can you put me down for £30 please. Have a hospital trip this week and then off on holiday on Friday for a long weekend but all prepaid so hoping it's not going to be too expensive!

I was a fair way into the red last week after buying new shoes and dress for the Xmas party, will get loads of wear out of both though.

NSD on Sunday and just 50p spent yesterday on a stamp. Going quite well this week do far ( I say that every week though!!).

Hospital today so that will involve coffee and cake ( treat for small boy as it's his appointment) and parking- this time I will check if the barrier is up before I pay!

    Current total is £0.50/£30
