Is it still possible to find a manual mortgage underwriter?

As in the title really, do manual mortgage underwriters still exist or is it all now computer and credit score driven?

There are non-scoring lenders, but adverse credit is still picked up.

You appear to want a lender which does not carry out a credit check and I'm afraid there are none.

  • No that is not the case, I want a lender whom will take into consideration ALL THE FACTORS when considering a mortgage application and not simply 'computer says no' as with many of the high street lenders these daya

    Ok. I'll rephrase.

You want a non-scoring lender which will believe the reason for your defaults and not take them into account because your reason, you believe, is legitimate and should not affect a lender's decision to lend to you.

I've already recommended a broker in your other thread, as that is where you have the best chance of finding a lender.

There are a few yes. I use a lot of these as i tend to deal with a lot of people with adverse.

Typically they are the smaller building societies but there are also a couple of other lenders that will do it - none of which are on the high street.

I suggest you get your credit reports and see a broker (not one at an estate agents though). You will struggle to get these types of mortgages through with anything less than a 15% deposit.

i asked questions on this forum over about 6 months regarding getting a mortgage and one broker stuck out above the rest with his help, some others were quite cocky, stuck up and generally quite rude lol, you get to know who they are with a little patience.

Adverse credit mortgages are available with high deposits and when your debts are settled (but still show in credit report)

There are no 'no deposit, still in debt and have adverse credit' mortgages. That is your position. You can't just pretend you just have adverse credit, debt, but a good deposit. You dont.

    Can any friends/family recommend anyone?
If not, like anything jump on the internet and have a look for a local whole of market broker.

Most complaints on here are for estate agent based brokers - my theory on this is that they have targets and that many people to see, they can not dedicate the time needed.... but thats just my theory.
