Possible ID Theft - Betfred - Petfre

Last year out of the blue I was sent a large bill - £190 recurring monthly for a mobile phone from Three. My personal details had been used probably at a phone shop by a fraudster. Three did take the unpaid debt off my credit file. The Police were not interested and said I had no financial loss - so although it was a crime, I was not permitted to report it. (ActionFraud did however give me one of their crime numbers). I registered with CIFAS for a year. Oddly, Three said they do not usually report these things to the police because the police do not take action.

Now I see an Anti-Money Laundering search on CallCredit was taken out last year - by Petfre(Gibraltar) Ltd - the parent company of Betfred. I have never been a customer though nor even visited their website. I'll write to them and see what they say, but I am concerned it may be difficult to prove that I have not had a bet with them, or opened an account.

Can financial organisations see who has conducted searches?
