Alliance & leicester 16 - 21 account £30 cash back

Havent seen anything posted about this one but if you open an account for your kids you can earn £30 for you and £30 for each of them.
Do this 4 times a year and open and close your own accounts as well and you could earn over £700 per year. this is in addition to the usual savings you can make with your interest free overdraft and high savings interest rates.

Just checked the A&L site and it's now £15 each for the Premier 21 account (16-21 current account).

    Hi at1cadmen,

I'm afraid you've misinterpreted this incentive offer. Anyone over 21 who has a Premier or Premier Direct Account can recommend a friend or family member for the Premier 21 Account but only the person being recommended gets £30 - the adult gets nothing. You can see the details HERE.

I'm not sure where you're getting the £700 figure from but I'm afraid you could not open and close these accounts four times in the one year in order to get the incentives because you cannot have held a Premier 21 Account in the 3 months preceding a new application. I would not recommend doing something like this for someone who is just starting out with their credit history either.

Hi Zebidee - The £15 each only applies to Premier 21 Account holders referring each other - it doesn't apply to someone with the adult Premier/Premier Direct Accounts. It can be quite confusing!

    Hi At1cadmen,

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove as the extract from the t&c's that you have posted above wholly concurs with what I posted earlier on this thread - that it is the Premier 21 Account holder ONLY that gets paid £30. The person referring them gets nothing unless they are also 16-21 and have a Premier 21 Account in which case both parties get £15 each.

It is a decent referral scheme as most people would be recommending their children and would therefore be quite happy for them to get the full £30 anyway but your idea of opening and closing the accounts in order to cash in on the incentives several times in the same year is just not worth doing for £30 a time. More importantly, though, it's simply a very bad idea for a young person starting out to be closing and reapplying for so many accounts when they should instead be building up their credit standing by developing a stable relationship with a bank.

    Regards

    Michelle
