So I have a laptop 11 months old and I think the HDD has failed.
I called and they have sent me a replacement to install and to re-install the OS etc.
Would I be well within my rights to tell them to fix it ?
I'm worried if I do something wrong or its not the HDD the can just say my warranty has been void or run out (1st Jan) is 12 months to the day.

difficult to do anything wrong, stick it in, boot from dvd, install windows

The recovery partition failed and since having Windows 8.1 it caused a number of issues.
I have actually installed the new HDD but it fails to boot up in uefi mode so I've had to put Ubuntu on for now to get help.
Going to call them Monday just seems poor service.
I can only imagine someone, who knows nothing about Laptops struggling with this approach.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 0650
