Linking email account with Gmail

My current email account is on yahoo, and I recently got a tablet and set up a Gmail account to retrieve my yahoo mail to my tablet using POP3.(I think) It all seems to work fine in as much that I get my yahoo email delivered to my tablet except for 1 annoying thing - the original emails in yahoo get flagged as if I had read them. Is there a way I can set it so that the emails in yahoo remain flagged as unread after the transfer to Gmail? I hope I made myself clear with all this- sorry if not, but this is all new to me.

I don't have a Yahoo account, but when doing a similar thing in Gmail itself, it's an option within the settings...
"2. When messages are accessed with POP..."
which leads to a drop-down menu;
* keep Gmail's copy in the inbox
* mark Gmail's copy as read
* archive Gmail's copy
* delete Gmail's copy
Anything similar in the Yahoo settings?"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."
