if I have allocated parking on a property, the parking will be at the back of the house, not on main road, can I put a shed in it?

What does the tenancy agreement / deeds say ?0

dont know, it is just a house, I was looking to move to and was wondering if it was possible, as I have seen others put shed in parking spaces, as well as caravans0

Tricky. Councils like to preserve parking to avoid parking issues. I think I'd contact the local Planning/Transportation Dept for advice.
I've seen preservation of parking written in as a condition to some approved Planning Applications.Mornië utulië0 -
cheers, it was just something I was thinking about0

In most cases you can do what you like till someone complains to someone who cares(site owners, maintenance company, council).
In my old place one patch of the allocated parking with garages was hardly used and someone stored there caravan there and a shed would not have been a problem(other than possibly getting broken into).
The other patch was used more and anything there would have been an issue for turning.0 -
Might depend whether it is new(ish) and has clauses put in by the builders to preserve the character of the development. Many old properties have an assortment of sheds and outbuildings at the bottom of the garden where there is a rear access road. Even then some councils will or won't allow concrete parking spaces.
The answer is "it depends".Been away for a while.0 -
As the other posters have said the answer could be yes or no.
I have a parking space behind my house and it is just for parking a car - no caravans, no boats, no junk, no sheds and no commercial vehicles.0 -
As you're renting you would also be best to check with the landlord. Does anyone else in the road have one as that would give an indication (but not proof) that it was allowed by the council?Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
