Shared ownership and fixing house

Hi all
Quick questions
I'm under shared ownership with midland heart and they've never helped paying out with things around house that need fixing such as windows, electrics, boiler.
Should they be helping me as I only own a quarter of the house and pay rent on the rest ?
We have spent thousands fixing things and just had a man fix boiler for free after pestering midland heart!
Any feedback is appreciated

"As a shared owner, you are legally an owner-occupier, not a tenant. Therefore you have the same responsibilities and rights as an outright homeowner."
In short, its your house so you have to fix it.
One of the large downsides of shared ownership.0 -
I'm assuming you have some sort of contract with them from the house purchase. What does it say about responsibility for maintenance and repairs?0

I used to have a shared ownership property and I never approached the HA for help with repairs. I guess I just knew from Day 1 it was all my responsibility so I never felt hard done by. It was explained to me that the 'rent' portion of my property was subsidised to take into account that it was me who did the maintenence and upkeep. It was 50/50 shared, and my rent was far less than half of what it would cost to rent normal in the area. Hope that makes sense.0
