Painting skimmed walls

Options
We have just had our hall/stairs reskimmed. We intend to do a couple of coats of waterdown matt emulsion on the walls. Is it ok to use silk emulsion for the top coats.

Thanks

non vinyl matt emulsion as a mist coat, watered down as per instructions on tin. Silk is fine as a top coat.........apart from it looking terrible and old fashioned. I would go for a matt emulsion, get diamond matt or real life matt if you need it to be cleanable

I know you have to dilute the paint but anyone know by how much? Do you just dilute normal emulsion or buy a special paint?

Can you paint skimming plaster with watered down emulsion as soon as it looks dry? and then can you put the top coat (non watered down) on as soon as the base coat is dry?

I did and it didn't flake or bubble. I don't do silk paint though I'm afraid, only matt;)
