Hi
I've been using the forums for many years with few or no problems.
Recently I upgraded my browser to IE 11 and found that I could no longer use the search function ...... as soon as I hit the search button my laptop freezes up and nothing on MSE works. I have to close down the tab and start again.
I rolled back the browser to IE10 but the problem remains....
Can anyone tell me how to re-enable the search function , please

IE11 REALLY does not like these forums.
Did you clear the browser cache and MSE cookies after you downgraded? That is the first thing I would try in case something stale is left over in those from IE11.
Otherwise not sure.
Obvious workaround (but not a solution) is to use Firefox or Chrome.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

No, I hadn't done that....I'll certainly give it a go.
Thanks for your help

IE 11? My laptop must be ancient. i think i'm on ie 8. IE is getting progressively worse. Their programmer should be banned for creating software to preemptively address compatibility issues - it is like making us wear glasses when we don't need one.0
