fail safe rice krispie recipe needed

I need to make some rice krispe cakes for the school. Normally I just guess the amounts of everything, sometimes they work sometimes they don't (but are always yummy). I can't really do that for the school I need them to hold together.

Does anyone have a tried and tested recipe that always hold together?

Thanks

  • I only ever use just melted chocolate bars and Rice Krispies, adding anything else like syrup or butter may make them too soft to hold together. How many are you wanting to make?

When adding the Krispies, I put in some at a time so you know when to stop - as long as they're mostly all coated then they should stick together.

Rice Krispies and chocolate is all you need. Melt chocolate, tip krispies in, form balls, put in fridge to set.

I use butter, syrup, and chocolate. I only ever used chocolate but was glancing through how to be a domestic goddess and saw that it suggested butter and syrup and they're yummy!

yes mine always turn out nice as I use butter and syrup but they don't always stick together :( it doesn't normally matter but for the school I would like to make some that do as they will be easier for the kids to eat.

Think I will go with just the chocolate and crispies suggestion for the school batch.

A good option is a tray bake, melt mars bars, butter and syrup, coat Rice Krispies in mixture, press into a tin and pour melted choc on top, let set and cut into squares :)

Put them into a bowl, cover with milk and eat.

    Simple and works every time.
