Can someone be kind enough to post which free antivirus, firewalls etc are compatible with Vista?
Am in the process of buying a laptop with vista os.
I am suprised that there isn't a main post covering vista and what software can be used on it at present etc

My current pc is running XP Home. I have installed Zonealarm, Spybot, CCleaner, AdAware, AVG, SpywareGuard and SpyBlaster.
Have been checking their website to see if they are compatible with Vista. Found the following -
CCleaner - Can't find anything to see if it is compatible
AdAware - Can't find anything to see if it is compatible
SpywareGuard - Just says it is compatible up to XP
SpyBlaster - Can't find anything to see if it is compatible
SpyBot search and destroy - Compatible with Vista
AVG - Compatible with Vista
Zonealarm 7.1 - Compatible with Vista
Zonealarm 6.5.737 - Prefer to use this. It is comtavile or do i have to use the latest version?
I am planning to use the above on the vista laptop. First have to see what security Vista has. Is it okay to use the above with Vista.
Current Vista users, what security do you use?Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems

AdAware works on both 32/64 vista fine
SpyBlaster is the same works fine on both 32/64 vista
SpyBot search and destroy works on both 32/64 vista
AVG works on vista 32 not vista 64
avast works on both 32/64 vista
PCTools Firewall works on both 32/64 vista
Compatible with Vista do not mean compatible with all vista versions has i have found it usually means compatible with vista 32bit (vista comes in two types 32bit and 64bit and both are common)
i us kaspersky internet security for vista 64bitthere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
