I wasn't even there - and can prove it!! UKCPS

Had a letter today accusing me of being in a disabled bay at a cinema in town *A*
However, at this time I was at a Pizza Hut in town *B* and then moved my car (at a later time than the ticket specifies anyway) to a disabled bay at the cinema still in town *B* where I am well within my rights to park having displayed a valid blue badge belonging to me.
This has left me furious - how many people unable to recall where they were and without the ability to check online bank statements and diaries would just hand over the £100??
I wouldn't hand over money to these monkeys if it killed me but my question is this - given the cost of 'defending this' lies with me and will at least cost me a stamp, my time etc. is there anything in law that allows me to take them to court, for example for undue stress?
I'm not looking for any monetary gain myself and would gladly donate any money to charity - I just want to make an example of these people.
I know i can pay the game of snap with them - or just ignore them and they will probably go away - but it's the principle. I know if this was one of my parents they would just pay up in the belief it was a legal notice.
Has anyone taken UKCPS to court?
Thanks guys :-)

Never seen that anyone has taken UKCPS to court but I would encourage you to give it a whirl after you've got this cancelled. Only costs you a small claim fee which in itself is reclaimable of course.
The idea has been discussed on pepipoo forum here in a thread about ParkingEye:
http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=85641
and as you can see from that thread, a poster got £250 out of NGP recently. Someone else got hundreds out of Vinci Park, in a newspaper article I recall reading.
First thing though is to write to appeal the ticket and in your letter state that if they continue you will sue them for your costs, as suggested in the pepipoo thread.
Thing is, Peter Haswell of UKPCS reads this forum so I bet he will cancel this one to spoil your fun!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Most likely they will probably send you a cheque straight away if you take them to court.
Saves them getting egg on their face in front of a judge0 -
Well thank you - I hope he is reading this. So far this has cost me 3 hours of time. I wonder if we can bill for your costs too in replying.
These people need making an example of.
Thank you! :-)0 -
He'll read it, without a doubt. I think he/his staff in the portakabin behind the Blooming Rose Pub in Leeds (for that is UKPCS HQ!) have an alert set up to see any UKCPS threads.
But anyway play the game and use a second class stamp, you could also include your grottiest Christmas card, wish them all at the Blooming Rose Pub Portakabin the compliments of the season from the regulars on MSE forums, and refer him to this thread...but if you do, also include a proper appeal wording on a separate letter.PRIVATE 'PCN'? I feel so sorry for the UK coloured pencil society - they must get a lot of grief!0

Shall I have a little game of snap - just to start and ask them for photographic evidence? Not let on I was in another town entirely?
Gosh, this is really adding to my undue stress. I can't tell you how totally stressed I am about this - really!
Any suggestions of a cause worthy of the money should I win?
I do have to take out court costs etc. as I'm not rich - but blimey - I'm not a mug either.
Thanks again folks - Seasons Greetings :-)0 -
Go for it, grumblybumbly.
I and several others on here will support you every step of the way.
