Should I leave neg feedback?

Question is this....

I have a good feedback rating - 600 and 100%.
Just bought an item, well past its expiry date.

Seller says it is "OK", but actually listed item as Brand New.

Looking at her feedback, it is very clear that I will get negative back - and aggressively - she even left neg for someone who left positive because there was a minor disagreement, from what I can see.

I have expressed my concerns but she's trying to fob me off - also, she doesn't actually realise that I know as much, if not (very likely) more, on the subject she's trying to 'explain' to me.

Personally, if I'm selling I leave feedback before I send an item to the buyer, but she's clearly waiting to see what I have to say, despite my prompt payment!

Anyone have an opinion?

It's clear from what you say that if you leave a neg you'll get one back.

Given your 100%, it's time to swallow and forget about it.
    The money, Dave...
  • If I were you I would mark it down to experience and don't leave feedback for the Seller at all.

Certainly given the past history of the Seller it would seem that you will be given a negative whatever you do. The Seller is unlikely to leave you a negative if you don't leave any feedback at all first.

Some Sellers make a habit of ruining a 100% feedback.

    Yeh but...
She's obviously not a nice person to deal with!
leaving more neg than she gets and ALWAYS IN CAPITALS!

Why not open an "item not as described" dispute via Paypal (if you paid by that, or through Ebay if not) then at least you know the seller will be investigated, if other buyers do it, they will be kicked off. Wait to see the outcome before leaving feedback.

yes leave the feedback otherwise others will get conned by this miserable piece of work - whats 1 neg in 600 to you? Especially if you respond reasonably to it stating that its retaliatory.

I'm with RFW & blacksheep, what's 1 in 600, especially if you rise above any neg & keep your feedback factual. "Item not as described...unable to resolve..leaves retalitory feedback" or words to that effect. I think opening a not as described dispute would also be safe.

If you're too worried about it though, has the seller got any really cheap items that a new buyer could purchase and then leave honest feedback without damaging yours?

  • Have you told your seller what you actually want from this exchange?

Did you state that you wanted a refund or a replacement? Not ask, state?

If not, then maybe you need to try again without leaving room for doubt.

If so, then perhaps you should decide how much a neg would bother you versus how much you want a new/replacement item or a refund?

If the value of the item is low, and you like your 100%, then I'd say drop it and let the swine get away with it.

If the value of the item is high, then you need to do something about it. IMO.

I can't believe people trying to talk OP out of leaving fair feedback. If they've got the guts to risk getting a neg back and feel strongly that the seller deserves it, do it!
