Air New Zealand the official airline of Middle-earth, is offering one lucky winner an iPad complete the Become an Elf App that will allow you to become one of the Elves from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" plus a Middle-earth inspired goody bag including limited edition Air New Zealand Smaug plane model and an exclusive Air New Zealand amenity kit complete with elfish socks and Smaug eye mask and more. Two runners up will also take home a Middle-earth inspired goody bag.

Answer: 4 Days


The Smaug decal that is on the Air New Zealand plan measures at 54 meters long (177 feet). It took 430 man hours and 4 days to apply the decal to the aircraft.
