good on you, they were crafty with me, told me they had stopped using the booklets and you had to list your searches on the site

If they still access sniggings, just go to your profile page (I think it is) on UJM and untick the relevant box.
You don't have to use the booklets either if you don't want to.
'However, the onus is on the claimant to provide evidence of their jobsearch activity (by whatever means they choose)
    .'
Whatever you can write in a little booklet you can write down on any 'ol piece of paper.
Personally, I like the booklets. They're very badly designed for what you need to write down (I take no notice of the column headings and just write across the last 3) but they cost nowt :D

it was the mention of sending screen shots etc that confused me...so saying you have done something is enough? so if I were to right down I had searched Monster for 5 hours etc that would be accepted as proof? proof?

Well in that case, when you go to sign on explain the situation to the advisor and ask them to photocopy your booklet and email it to the other advisor (or to you - Unless you have the equipment at home to do this)

    That's all I do.

A line in my booklet (and this counts as one of my weekly required activities) can simply say Looked on UJM , and the date. If there was nothing to apply for I'll say so. If there was I just put 'see below', or an arrow pointing downwards, and write down all the relevant info on the next line (counts as another activity)
I've never put a 'time spent doing this' to anything. If they start playing that one there will be 2 hours going down for filling in stupid sodding booklets :D

Unless there is a job to apply for and you can give all the necessary/required details about it, it's very difficult to 'prove' you've been looking at a jobsite. If they've got access to your UJM account they would know if you'd been logging in or applied for a job through UJM (getting rarer - usually direct contact email or redirected to agency site) but that's about it.
I thought 'proving' all my spec letters with company names, where I got them, contact details, when sent etc would be good enough evidence but an A-hole of an advisor thought otherwise. I challenged him to contact some of the email addys I had provided if he didn't believe me but his response was... 'that's never going to happen' - you can't win sometimes...

...Well, you can if challenge your JSAg after having to deal with such an idiot forces you to.;)

Reading the rules again from the post above, I see it's down to whether they believe the proof you provide, I wonder if anyone has tested this?

I was told by an adviser they saw me online on the site, I hadn't logged a search or applied for a job, simply been on the site and they knew  so if they start saying I was only logged on for so long, then I will then withdraw their access...I was at an interview today, very nervous on it but I have a feeling I may stand a chance, fingers crossed as this is getting daft now, I'm all for making people seek work but this is so clearly setup to punish not help...I wonder how the track suit brigade manage to do all this

I see you were posting as I was editing :)

I challenged them to 'test my proof' - they didn't want to know.

I 'suspect' even if you don't give them access they may know if you've been logging on through your email address, so whenever they ask if I've been using UJM I tell them I look on there every day, at least once (95% true), but only log on if I need to click the 'apply' button to apply for a job and it doesn't then re-direct me to another website.

No I mean I was logged on, just I was thinking that all they could see was what jobs I had applied for and what comments I had entered on my log, I guess I knew they could see other details, but didn't think they would admit to looking what I had last viewed the site

I do the same, log on only when I need to, so if they try and say I only search for 5 minutes etc then I will redraw their access.
