Has anyone done this via ebay? Would you again?

I looked last year and choice was extensive.

Ive bought many plants from ebay with no problems whatsoever. I tend to use the same couple of sellers (both have their own nursery) and the plants are usually sold as plugs, very well packed and come with planting out instructions.

    Yes and Yes :D
I've bought plants off Ebay and would do so again.
They're still going strong after 3 years.

    I'd be wary.

My Mam bought me a magazine offer of 6 clematis plants last year. They came in the post. When they arrived, I potted them on as per instructions and have looked after them. 2 plants have died, 3 look very poor and 1 is reasonble. In contrast a clematis I bought myself from Crocus is much healthier and had loads of growth last year, so it's massive compared to the others.

If I was buying plants mail order, I'd stick to reputable places like Thompson and Morgan or Crocus, as I've had high quality plants from both in the past.

iI spose thats the problem, I have bought plants by post from a reputable dealer and recieved a box os spinach soup. (Prob down to heat whilst in transit). Others have been great.
But its always a bit of a gamble with plants I suspose! But I like the ideda of buying single single or maybe a couple of plants for a seller, as as opposed to 12 ground cover plants at once!
    Maybe Iiwill try.....
    Thanks for your answers folks
