How multi-branch EAs operate?

Some of the larger EAs like Haart, Taylor etc. have multiple branches in my town.
Funny thing is that, it seems one branch operates independently from another because I have to register with each of them separately and I need to call specific branch to speak about a specific property :mad:
Are they all same EAs or just franchisees using a brand name thus independently managed?

Look at their websites. If they're franchise operations, a big section of the website will be devoted to recruiting new franchisees
