Replacement power adapter

Hi,
I'm looking to replace the power adapter pictured below that died after a recent power cut:

Ignoring the plug size and polarity, am I able to just use any 12V 2A adapter, or do I need to be concerned about anything such as wattage?
The adapter is used to power an iPod dock/alarm clock.
Many thanks.

Theoretically, any 12V DC 2A adapter will do the job (as long as plug size & polarity are correct)1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
Thanks for the confirmation - that's what I had presumed.
I'll try and source a better quality one and attach it to surge protector.
