Returning a Philips juicer to Argos?

Question is can I return a used Philips juicer to Argos? I bought it from Argos on Wed 4th (so 9 days ago) and I think the motor is already on the way out (twice in the last week when I've juiced and then moved the machice, its thrown out a black soot type discharge from the motor vent below). Having looked online I see numerous reports of some of the Philips models motor's burning out and if this is a sign its already in trouble then would rather return it now.

Yes you can always try and return it but they do have the right to inspect it and if no fault is found you may not get a refund. The "discharge" could be nothing more than oil/lubricant from the new motor being burnt off.0

Thanks. You may be right, but my worry is if it is a sign its on the way out and it goes just after the 30 day return period then it might have to get sent off to get fixed, etc and I don't want to have to deal with that sort of thing if its only a few weeks old. Will pop along with it on Saturday and see what they say.0

Whilst they are in their rights to decide if to repair, replace or refund, my experience with argos is that they have always refunded (or replaced at my choice) a faulty item.0

Same. I've always been given the choice of ordering something else with the funds or receiving a full refund. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
