NHS spend your cash on cutting edge research

Nice to see that in these difficult times that the NHS still has the cash to invest in leading edge research.

I can remember when our doctors read medical books and worked with real people.

Where does it say the NHS funded the research? Doctors often do research funded by external bodies, or indeed without funding at all. Having read the BMJ article, it states this research was not funded.

This kind of research is often done in the researchers own time, just for fun, and unfunded.

Hey it is Christmas and a light hearted, humourous piece in the BMJ. It was MSE as it cost nothing to do and we have enjoyed the joke for free.

Should we suggest researching into the average IQ or appreciation of a joke amongst MSE posters for next year?
