Argos query

I have just bought a 24 inch led tv with smart apps, I also had to buy a dongle

I payed for it and waited for the lady to pass it to me I queried with her about net flick and accessing the internet she told me that it would , well unpacking and setting it up I have realised it does neither

Upon checking it says it does not offer a 30 day money back guarantee

I would like them to take it back

Do you think I have a chance of this

Maybe the lady got confused as you were in the greengrocers and didnt sell TV's?

    You bought what? (made/model)

I wouldnt expect the staff to know what features a TV had.

You had already purchased the TV when you queried what various functions it had, so where already not in a position for a refund if the answer the lady gave was any different.

Nothing wrong with going in and explaining the circumstances and asking for refund.

There have been horror stories about argos on here but personally, I've always received great customer service from my local stores. I guess it just depends on your luck!

Are you sure it can't connect to the internet ?
If its a smart tv, then it must be able to connect to the internet, otherwise whats the point of it being smart.

what apps does it actually have ? i assume it has things like iplayer?

Have you been confused by the word "dongle"?
For a smart TV the dongle is for connecting it to a wireless network. You must have a wireless network in your house with a broadband connection to be able to access the smart functionality.

People misuse the word "dongle", particularly on internet forums. Sometimes they are referring to a mobile internet device, sometimes a wifi device, sometimes a bluetooth device. (And for any engineers out there, sometimes for the security device that screwed into the printer port and allowed you to run AutoCAD R12)
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

when you say "accessing the internet" what do you mean? are you expecting to connect to the internet to use the apps, any smart tv will do this, its how it streams the programmes. Or are you wanting it to "access the internet" in the way a pc or laptop does? I may be wrong but I don't think any tv will do that.
