With distant selling don't you have to return the item within 7 days?
"The Distance Selling Regulations state that your right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and doesn’t end until seven working days from the day after you receive your goods."
You do need to cancel (as above) within the time limit, but there's no limit laid down for the return of the item. The trader only has 30 days to make the refund, though.
The problem (normally), however, is that you have to pay the return carriage.0
