British Gas Fix and Fall March 2014
Hello,
I'm on the BG Fix and Fall March 2014 plan. There is an exit fee of £35 per tariff. I want to move providers now. Is there a certain time before the plan ends that I can leave without having to pay the exit fee, or do I have to wait until the end of March? I've checked the T&C but can't see anything.
Thanks,
Gaz

You can start the change of supply before the end of March but must not leave them before this date. The average time to change suppliers is 6 weeks but it has been known to take a lot less. I would instigate the move no more than 3 weeks before the end of March if I was in your position.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0

If moving now will save you more by 31/3/14 than the ETC cost, then do it straight away.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Under the OFGEM guidelines you must be notified 6-7 weeks before the end of a fixed tariff and once you've been notified you can switch without being charged an exit fee. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/press-releases/tougher-rules-fixed-term-energy-deals-come-force-ofgem%E2%80%99s-retail-market-reforms-begin-bite0
