I think I got my cover for about £50 for the YEAR..
Loyalty means nothing to companies.
I'd rather push my car home than pay 24.95 a month,41 quid a year for me with Startrescue.Went shoplifting at the Disneystore today.
Got a huge Buzz out of it.0 -
I need UK & European coverage for any vehicle.
There is only one sensible choice - if you breakdown, anywhere in Europe - you phone them and they send whichever 'local' service is going to be quicker. It could even be the AA or the RAC!
For only €79.50 per year - it's the ADAC - unlike the AA and the RAC which are now profit seeking companies, the German equivalent is still run for the benefit of its members - no matter where they live.
And it can all be done in English - no need to know a word of German at all.

They are a certain set in the ways people, who just want everything simple and "over and done".
These are the people that get hit with the "loyalty tax"
If every time you went to the supermarket they charged you double for buying your shopping because you had shopped there before, people would be enraged .
But when it comes to breakdown cover, they are happy to pay double what it costs those who don't do loyalty.
Shopping around is the key to having more money to spend.
Why waste your time begging on the phone to pay the same as newbies when you can just flip flop to identical service for half the cost.Be happy...;)0 -
The AA were once a true club owned by it's members, then they were sold off and the then members got a pay-off
Since then they have had heaven knows how many owners, Norwich Union, (Aviva) owned them at one point - They have gone from Hedge fund to Hedge fund, all of whom have attempted to squeeze a bit more juice from the lemon, hence the ever rising fee's
Put your enquiry for what you want to every Co. on the web' and make your mind up from there, but then watch carefully the value of the next years renewal cost0 -

My cover is roadside, relay, and home start for both me and my mam.
This year the price became - £24.95 per month, so that's nearly £300 a year
I have rang them up and they are unwilling to lower the fees, so my only options are - remove relay cover which brings it down to £20.63 a month, or remove home start which lowers the price down to £17.46 a month. I have opted for the latter, but still feel this is a high price for something that a new customer can get for £75
Sounds like you've signed up - if so check the cancellation policy and cancel it if possible. This is an outrageous price, they've well and truly seen you coming!0 -

I completely agree with arcon5 - try to cancel this ASAP.
You can get a better deal almost everywhere.
You owe it to yourself (and your mam) to do better than this terrible price.0 -
ours was loopy this year - am definitely going to look around next year, high price to pay for loyalty0

I'd strongly recommend avoiding the AA. I broke down on the Southbound M1 (just after Newport Pagnell Services) at about 2pm on a weekday and they took 9 hours to arrive.0
