The Cube - how strict is the age limit?

Hi all
My partner managed to get 3 free tickets to see The Cube in January. The only problem is it states on the website that you have to be over 12, and our daughter is 9. I think she would really enjoy it as she loves watching it on TV, so I was wondering if anyone knew how strict they are with this age limit. Has anyone taken their children under 12 and had any problem getting in? If you did get them in without any problems, did your kids enjoy it?
Cheers!

I would have thought 9 was pushing it. You'd maybe get away with an 11 year old. Why have an age limit if you're not going to be "strict" with it? But then I've never had tickets and I don't have a 9 year old.0

I would've thought the same, but I went to see Miranda Hart's standup show recently and that also had an age limit of 12, but there were lots of kids clearly younger than that there and no-one had stopped them going in. Just wondering if it's there as a guide rather than a strict limit.0

I have taken my 9 year old to 12+ shows, not had any problems.
Just remember unless you have priority tickets you won't have guaranteed entry and it is likely to be overbooked so get there early.0 -
Lots of children appear younger than their age, if she's going with her parents and you all say she's 12 then how are they going to prove otherwise. It's not as if she's a really young child.0

There may be many reasons for the age limit; not the least the TV company's public liability insurance. Age is a condition of entry for the free tickets.
'Filming' any show like this is not normally done in real time... the 45 mins edited show could well take 2+ hours to record. While a 12-year old may put up with this a younger child may well become bored and fractious.
Only you know your child. But be aware that the staff could decide to refuse your party entry and there will be nothing you can do about it - then you'd have a really upset daughter.
BTW The Miranda Hart Show is a 'purchased ticket' show, billed as 'suitable for 12 up' and it is not a condition of the ticket/entry that they are that age. http://mirandahart.com/?page_id=5390 -
Thanks everyone, that's really helpful.

Have been to the cube with my son who was just 12 at the time we went ( 3 yrs ago) He is a young 12, and I don't recall anyone questioning us on entry.
I'd think if they are going to be strict then they would've for the show we watched as it was a celeb one.
Agree with comment of getting there early and be prepared to stand in the queue for ages and ages. They do over book and in our case the company we booked through wasn't the only one with tickets for our show.
If it's still in fountain studio Wembley, you could do what we did which was get there early ( and still a LONG Queue) I then left DD and DS in the queue whilst I popped to macs for a snack and drink each.
We was lucky as we was the last ones for our company to be let in.
And make sure your daughter goes to toilet before you get in your seats as they don't like you moving around during the filming, we also found everyon had a bottle of water and grain bar on their seat0
