Closed case,opened new case today.Tracing?

I closed my existing case against ds dad a little over 13 weeks ago due to old rules and sneakiness leaving a nil assessment after paying £420 a month. When I closed the case the caseworker I was put through to told me that when I open a new case after the 13wk rule, that they could use the previous case to obtain exes address.
Today I called CMS (apparently has to go through them now as 2012 rules are in) and they sighed at that and said they would have to trace him as I have no idea where he lives and he changed his number.Obviously, they pointed out that it could really delay things if they have trouble as start date is from date of contact.
I did give them the addresses and phone numbers for his business and also his employer.
Will that be enough?Or will they not use them and hold on as a last resort if they can't 'trace' him otherwise?I have a feeling he won't be too forthcoming!

That should be sufficient - to be honest, with his national insurance number, tracing is generally fairly straight forward.
Good luck with your new case, let me know how you find your experiences with the 2012 scheme, there aren't a great deal of people on the board who have cases on the new system yet so it'll be interesting to see people's experiences.0 -
Thanks.
I'm wondering how it will go.One thing I do know is the security is mad!I had to think of 7...yes 7 (!) answers to questions for memorable this and that for them to set security on the spot!Numbers, names, places, dates etc etc.Had to write them all down as I went LOL
Was rather amused at the equality questions after it all too. What is my sexuality you ask?:rotfl:If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

Yeah, when I saw that they were going to be compulsory I thought it was pretty ridiculous.0 -

True, the old security anyone who knew you or your ex could answer!
The new one is rather ott though. Are 7 security questions comprising of password, memorable events, people dates blah blah blah plus a random memorable 7 digit number of your own choice really necessary? If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

Surely they cant force people to answer questions about their sexuality etc?0 -

No, the security questions are compulsory (favourite singer, etc), but there are optional questions that the Govt insist on most Govt agencies asking for inclusion reasons, these include race/disability/sexuality. In their infinite wisdom they've decided that Child Maintenance should also be part of this.0 -
Too early for an update on the new case/system yet,but the csa finally called today to let me know the old case is closed! If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0

A little update!
First positive: when you call cms you are instantly put through to your case worker, which is always a bonus!
That is,unless you put the wrong reference number in,then you go through a normal person:rotfl:
Anyway, the normal person (sorry lol) said they've had phone contact with him and income details form has been sent out.He said there's no HMRC info, which is odd,so due to that and the ex sending some random letter in which is marked on the system as 'unrequired' he put me through to a case worker as mine isn't in.
She said there was no info and asked about his work,I had to give his business and employment details again- I done that when I opened the case! She can't tell me what the letter is but my caseworker may be able to tell me,if relevant.
Now have to wait to see if he sends back the income forms and if not they'll then find the details another way.
Why would hmrc not have details?Or have they just not actually contacted them and are being numpties? If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

HMRC data is not for all and sundry, I'm sure this was mentioned in another thread, of course the information they hold will be important to you and your cause. However the data they hold was not collected to assist with CS or public requirment.0
