Leasehold flat buying - how to play it when you have pets?

Having 3 cats who like to explore the outdoors I've seen a purpose built falt with communal garden front and back. The flat is ok and very tempted to put in offer but agent isn't sure on oet front and is check with owner who is overseas at present.

For fellow pet owners how so u purchase your leasehold? Do u put in offer anyway and get solicitor to fine toothcomb leasehold details (though I've been told this is share of freehold with 100yrs left and there is 100 service charge only to mgt company flat owners have employed). I can't help but feel owner will say yes anyway without knowing specifics of lease so thinking pop in offer anyway but concern here is shelling out when a waste of time.

I even spoke with solicitor and they suggested I email agent with my questions for answering before getting solicitor involved

Any help/experiences shared would be welcome

    I bought a flat last year & kept my fingers crossed that there were no restrictions on having a domestic pet as I have a cat.

    Obviously I had to wait until solicitor had looked over the lease, especially as the owners of my place lived abroad & flat had been rented out for a while, so couldn't inquire through them.

    Estate agents generally have next to no information regarding the lease, so are not always a good source of information. What you could do is maybe knock on a couple of doors of neighbours & ask them, or perhaps have a walk around & look to see if anybody has a cat flap in their property.

    Having moved into my place, I noticed that a neighbour has a cat flap, so had I seen that before getting the all clear from my solicitor, it would have been a weight off of my mind.
    The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

    I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

    Quoting the spam is fine - as long as you don't repeat the payload of the spam .....
    You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

    I just itemised the spam part of the content. Having checked all their recent posts I have reported four of them as spam, and I hope you will follow the trail and do the same so they are deleted. Then I will delete my replies too :)
