I am using Windows Live Mail as my email client (and no thank you, I am not looking for 'why don't you use **** type comments thank you) and if I want to include a photo with my email I am presented with two choices ... Insert within the email or Attach it as a file.
Attaching it as a file preserves its original qualities but some recipients may not even notice there is an attachment, so it loses some impact.
Inserting the same image within the body text (which is what I really want to do) results in the Live Mail application re-rendering the image and losing a lot of detail.
I can't see anything in the Options settings that force an Insert to render in original quality. Anyone know of a fix for this please?

There's no quick fix, and the reason it works like that is to stop emails being sent out with very large images imbedded in them.
Would a possible solution be to insert a small version in the email and also have the attachement, or have the small version in the email but make it a hyperlink so when they click on it, it takes them to a website where the original is hosted?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?

I'm not familiar with how WLM works. Does it offer a Paste Special option where you can choose the insert format, like you'd get with Outlook for example?0

Thanks for the suggestions WTFH. Yes, I've used both of those 'workarounds' but I was hoping for a elegant solution like a permanent registry hack.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -

:j Well done bod. You got me thinking and I've done some more digging and there is indeed an option buried in the menus to change the size of an inserted image including 'Original Size'.
Problem sorted. Have a pint on me ... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0
