As said, its obviously an allergy, nothing to do with the brand. My wife has been wearing her ICE watch for about 3 years with no problems. I got it for her half price in a sale (they are regularly on sale) and paid £35 which for the wear she has got out of it is good value.
It is fully waterproof and very robust.

Incidentally, I bought a fake one for about £8 in Turkey last year and although it looked identical, it was not waterproof, the face misted up and the strap broke within a couple of weeks.

Yep, they aren't waterproof (DD discovered this in the pool) but ours are still going strong 12 months later.

TK Maxx have them in occasionally at around £25 - £40 depending on the style as well.

I'm just trying to pre-warn people in case they are getting them for kids as even now it has scarred my arm and I have had tonnes of watches over the years with different materials and never had anything happen so wouldn't recommend them to children.

  • I wouldn't say ICE watches are badly made....If you have an allergy which is sounds like it.

It sounds like your skin has a had a terrible reaction. I'd be off to the Dr's for allergy testing.

Weirdly I've seen the new models in the jewellers window today, not seen the ones with a flat strap before.

If it's just the buckle painting it with clear nail polish usually solves the problem.

its on both sides of my wrist so I don't think its the buckle. I think the writing on the inside of the strap hasn't helped my wrist and took the skin off. Its still discoloured. Like I say i've worn loads of watches with various material and never had any problems before. I've sent it back to see what they say as i'm not impressed that its done that and I think they are going to test it or something. Its a genuine watch though from the watch shop. Shall be waiting to see what they say as they will get it tomorrow but should imagine I won't hear back until new year now. If you google ice watch you will find the same type in tonnes of different colours.

  • You do realise don't you that allergies can just "happen". Just because you've been fine with other watches.

There is nothing on that strap that should cause such significant injuries. Unless you're allergic to a material in the strap or have developed a sudden allergy. I'd go to the drs myself.
