Getting an ESTA

Hi, wonder if anyone can advise me.

How do you get an ESTA?. I went on google and it took me to an American site. Is that the way its done or is there an easier way to get one?

thank you

Make sure you use the official US site

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

Moto2 gave you the link above but there is nothing difficult about it whatsoever. When I renewed mine (so already knew what I needed to do) it literally took me something like 2 minutes. Obviously as it's your first time you'll need to go through it slowly to make sure you're answering it 100% correctly, but it's not remotely arduous.
  • Ultimately you can pay someone to do it for you but they will simply go to the website linked above and type in your answers for you and just tick the third party box at the end.

As long as you can read and have the passports to hand then its simple
  • yes found it all very straightfoward - just worth a good old double check that all the details are correct especially if you're putting them in for other people, say if several of you travelling together.

Although the site asks for flight / hotel details as you go through the questions you will find that these are not obligatory to complete so don't panic when you come across them. There may be an * or similar against these.

Its a while since I did mine but the mandatory questions relate to your passport details and issues such as a criminal record etc

not all criminal records pose an issue. Having syphilis can also a bigger issue than getting done for drink driving.

Read through your answers or get someone else to double check, someone on here (or another forum) ticked her boyfriend as a drug user and I think he has to get a proper visa now, expensive and time consuming.

As others have said it is quite straight forward. Just take it slow and be careful when you fill it in.
