How old is my boiler?

It is an Ideal Classic FF240 model.

Is there any way to tell how old it is?

Reason for asking: Many central heating covers say they won't cover anything older than 15 years. So just want to know if I'm wasting money on such cover.
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

    The manual was written in 2001.

    If you want to know exactly, I would get the serial number and ring Ideal Heating. They should be able to tell you the date of manufacture from that information.

    I wanted to know when my Ideal boiler was installed to I rang them and, as it had been registered they were able to tell me.
