  • First £10 is in the pig - five pounds each for me and DH up to the end of this week and £1 each in the jar ready to start next week, we figured that's the only way to keep track of what goes in there :j

Both me and my hubbie are doing this so £2 a day going in the pot. I have got a tick chart next to it as I think sometimes I will be throwing in a few days worth in advance etc ..........as don't want to fall behind with it.

This challenge has really got me thinking how much difference £1 can actually make. I know for me I have hardly ever bothered saving as such as felt I could never afford to ferrit away larger amounts. The light switch has now been flicked on and I have come to realise little and often really is worth it.

I think I will also be joining the Grocery challenge as I think that we flitter away a reasonable amount each month on unnecessary items / impulse buys etc etc. I am sick of going in for milk and bread and coming out with a £27 spend. I cringe at how much that is likey to add up over a year!
