Do I have a leg to stand on?

Hello,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I wanted some advice,
I have been saving Tesco clubcard vouchers and finally cashed them in for Bridge the world holiday vouchers.
I have looked at their prices got an online quote and called to book the holiday, the price was confirmed however when I tried to use the vouchers the hotel jumps up by £350 and the flights go up by £100?
I understand that im not eligible for any promotional offers however there is nothing on their site saying this is on offer?
I checked the prices for the hotel through the year and and other that a slight seasonal fluctuation its a flat rate of £124 for the week, I called the hotel and they say that that is their official rate. so why are Bridge telling me its £460 for the week if I want to use my vouchers?
I asked them for a list of prices that dont show the promotional prices and they say there isnt one?
When I phoned pretending to be someone else and asked if this was on offer or did I need to booking this ASAP I was told this wasnt on offer but prices couldnt be guaranteed ect.
I just think its a bit fishy that im not eligible for the price advertised because its an offer and my holiday is £450 more but when i inquire if its a special im told no???

Do I have grounds to question this or is it a take it on the chin thing? Tescos said they would pass my comments on but thats about it?

I had a similar issue when booking a weekend away with Tesco Vouchers.

The hotel cost on their website was £200
Tesco's offer was 3:1 so £10 in vouchers = £30 in hotel tokens.

I had £60 in vouchers so was expecting to get £180 in tokens and pay £20 in cash for the hotel.

On booking I was told that Tesco tokens had to be used on their weekend break rate which would cost around £300.

The weekend break rate doesn't appear anywhere but in the small print in the pdf of the deal details on Tesco's website and you don't find out what it actually is until you have got the tokens (so you can't change them).

These sort of arrangements appear to be quite common and are there to reduce the value of the offer once the buyer has committed to the tokens.
  • Im glad its not just me, I think im just miffed that they are saying the price on screen is a promotional offer but when i questioned the "non promotional prices" she said there wasnt any until she went under the tesco voucher page lol.
She was really nice an i think she was a little shocked and has been looking to see what else she can find, But i think that there should be some sort of governing of how much extra they can charge you for using the vouchers!!
Tescos have said that if i decided to go with a different company if I send them back they will do a simple exchange within a few days, but i like the holiday company just not they little grey area lol

All you can do is contact Tesco Clubcard and ask them the credit them back to your account
  • This is not uncommon and its not limited to travel firms / hotels

There was a thread where a toy company had basically two websites with differing prices depending on how you were paying.
    2014 Target;
    To overpay CC by £1,000.
    Overpayment to date : £310

    2nd Purse Challenge:
    £15.88 saved to date
  • Its rather shocking, I mean its still cheaper than paying for it with cash but you do hit the point where you think you give me a loyalty reward for not shopping at the slightly cheap morrisons then you treat my loyalty with a cheeky bum slap lol

The majority of these vouchers can only be used against full price.
  • That's what it says, so surely the supplier has an obligation to show the full price?
