Investment while residing outside of UK

Hi all, first post and I’m just looking for abit of advice/ideas please.
I live outside UK and am looking for ideasabout what I can and cannot do with my savings. Being outside the UK seems to limit me with regard to the setting up of a new current accounts with a high interest rate or ISA signup.
It’s not a great idea to keep money in accounts where I live so I have been transferring money back to UK as required. More out of desperation than sense this has allowed me to achieve a full holding of premium bonds. Even with that amount win return hasn’t been great so am open to other ideas about what to do with that 30K plus another 15K or so ready for the next transfer.
I’ve looked at investment in coins etc, itseems a nice idea, but only address available would really be my parents and I’m not happy asking them to store anything of great value for me. Not a trust issue, but more of an insurance one.
I have no plans to return to UK in the immediate future and it is not advisable to invest in my local property market. What else can I do?

Will you need ready cash when you return to the UK?
Otherwise you might consider stockmarket based investment through the likes of TD/Barclays International etc?

Yes, styockbrokers and others will set up accts for those who are non resident.
For cash, where are you? Are there any branches of large international banks like HSBC or Barclays etc? That you could use to set up new accts?
Investment trusts will open savings plans (non tax savings accts) for non residents.
Do you have an old UK current acct? Who with, they will sometimes open new accts for existing customers.
Otherwise look at expat services with HSBC and look at UK building societies like BM- they have in the past allowed non resident accts.0 -
Cheers will investigate links given.
I'm based in UAE and have a nationwide account still in use at home. I have a HSBC account out here. It's not an official HSBC here, more of a franchise, but it is linked back to them so I have normal services available. Not keen on investing from accounts here though as it's a bit dodgy. Prefer money not been here.0
