Hi there
A wee bit of advice please. DH today downloaded 4 small MP3s to do with his hobby, just over 1.5 minutes in total. He asked me to burn to a cd which is not a problem. I thought I would burn to a CD-RW which was fine as we could eventually reformat and use again - it played OK on the computer with Media Player. However, did not play in our main CD player (a really good one) (part of our sound system downstairs.) This was required as he wanted then to record to minidisc. After a bit of guddling arround I just burned to a CD-R which plays fine on both.
Blank CD-Rs not very expensive but is there any other re-recordable media which might have done the job? Perhaps CD-RW+/-? Not a major problem as CD-R are so cheap. Just curious about whether I have done the wrong media. By the way I used Sonic for this (not usually a problem) - just drag and drop from the desktop once MP3s downloaded. As I said worked fine with the bog standard CD-Rs.

Hi
It was a good idea to use a rewritable CD.
But it looks like they're not compatible with your main CD player.
There are no other types of rewritable CD's to try, just CD-RW.
There are not different + and - types for CD's like there are for DVD's.
Edit
With some CD burning software it is possible to make 'multisession' recordings.
When you do this it allows you to 'append' more tracks until the disc is full.
Edit again
When you use multisession recordings you may be able to delete tracks too.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
Thanks for your edit.
Whilst I am reasonably computer literate, DH has time to add stuff to a temporary destop folder and as I said before Cd-r is so cheap (8p a disc or less) and we know it is compatible with sound system downstairs, we will just build up a library of stuff to burn.
Thanks for taking the trouble to post your advice - much appreciated. After all other media is so much more expensive than buying the ordinary Cd-R stuff.
