House survey

I've had a offer accepted on a property I would like to purchase. My mortgage application I submitted today has been referred and I will find out in two days if my mortgage application will be accepted.

I want to know when Is it the best time to organised someone to carry out a survey on the property . Do I wait until the mortgage application is accepted or can I go ahead without the decision. I want a full home buyers report done.

thanks

Wait until you have the mortgage offer and you have to use a surveyor on the lenders panel of approved surveyors

This is correct. Though, you have to use a valuer on the lenders panel but it's up to you if the survey is done by the same company or if you choose another company. Easiest to go through lender though I think.

Biggest tip: don't be too hasty to spend your well earned, I've found it hard not to jump the gun but just think about the money you could loose if you don't wait to get accepted for your mortgage. You could book a survey for a weeks time, find that the mortgage is taking longer than expected to be accepted (sometimes it takes an age), get the survey and then not be accepted for the mortgage ... Money down the drain.
