Advice with parking ticket from Excel Parking

Quick advice please.
I parked briefly at the Peel Ctr Stockport without a ticket (no change and quickly nipped in a shop).
I ignored the 1st chance to pay £60 and now got the notice to pay £100.
Bit of info:-
The evidence was by ANPR.
I have no concerns about receiving dedt/solicitors BS threat letters. Just wanting to to position myself better should this go to CC.
QU...Any advice (template letters) on what I should do now.
OR...Am I wasting my time & should pay up?
