Balance transfer from AMEX SPG to NatWest problems

I am trying to transfer a balance from a Starwood Prefered Guest Amex to Nat West, cannot do this online myself due to it being 15 digits and not 16.

But have also failed miserably in getting it done over the phone as Natwest insist it does not recognise the card number?

I've spoken to both amex and natwest and they say there is nothing they can do and to contact the other party..... :mad:

I don't think you can do a BT from an Amex to a visa or MasterCard.

I've had it confirmed by both NatWest and Amex that it is possible.

i have done it in the past, from Amex to MBNA. but i am going back a good few years.
i tend to just use Amex for spending and clear it in full from own funds.

the SPG is definately a credit card, rather than a charge card.
so i think the 'principle' will be ok, it is perhaps just that the 'system' that is falling down..

i hope you can find a way of getting it done.
