Milk for 3 Year Old on Long Haul Flight

I know it is frowned upon but a bit desperate for quick advice so I have posted tghis in the Trips and Travel section too
We are off next week to Dubai flying Emirates from Glasgow and after the last particularly harrowing experience flying long haul with three kids we are beginning to panic about the 3 year olds addiction to warm milk - particularly when tired or upset (both likely!)
The smallest cartons of regular UHT milk I have found is 200ml so doesn't meet the 100ml restriction on liquids. Also I think it unlikely that airline security would accept this as baby milk given that he is a strapping 3 year old. Also I am loath to decant and taste milk which will obviously then deteriorate on a long journey.
Would anyone know whether it would be possible to purchase milk of any description after passing through security at Glasgow or if Emirates would routinely carry sufficient milk on board the aircraft?
Thanks in advance for any knowledgable replies.

Will he drink flavoured milk? You would be able to buy a bottle of strawberry, 'nana or chocolate milk from one of the shops at the airport.
Might be no help but worth suggesting and the best I can do! Good luck.0 -
I would try and contact Emirates ,my gut says they will be able to provide you with some .Hope you have fun0

I'm sure the Airline will be able to help. I found BA bent over backward when I travelled alone with my one year old. I had told them I was bringing a baby, just to make sure, and they had baby food milk and nappies to hand. PLane was so empty they even babysat while I went to the bathroom! A friend flew Emirates and also found them very helpful. I found the depressurisation more of a worry!
If they cannot provide suitable milk, ask if can you bring powdered milk and get it made up on board. Surely that's not asking too much?NSD 0/150 -
Contact the airline, they will be more than helpful!!

Could you buy the ready made baby milk cartons ? I thought these where less than 100ml ?
Is there a Boots Airside ? If so they will sell baby milk ready made.
Emirates are the best airline I have ever travelled with and will bend over backwards so I think you should be OK.
Good luck.

Don't have any specific advice for you, but having flown with Emirates myself, I just wanted to reassure you that they are an excellent company to fly with. I'm sure they'll be able to help you. The customer care on our flight was absolutely first class - something you're luky to get anywhere these days. And I can highly recommend the food! I'd be happy to stay on the ground and have their meals!!

Just a thought- could you spin him a tale and have him believing it before you fly- I dunno, something like being so high in the sky stops the milk getting so warm?

A small carton can be warmed next to your body to get it a bit warmer, and try to 'cool' the milk he's getting in the run-up to your flight.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Thank you to everyone who replied. It is good that so many have great experiences of flying Emirates.
dawnybabes - great suggestion about Boots. I phoned and they do sell cartons of semi skimmed milk airside. :j0 -
Just to support what everyone else has said, Emirates are a first class airline, and will bend over backwards to help you and the little ones.
I'm sure you will be fine, but just give them a call and double check. If need be, they will no doubt make special arrangements for you.
Enjoy! xGone ... or have I?0
