Peugeot Just Add Fuel Termination

The cars at the dealer will be insured via the dealers policy, but your car wouldn't belong to the dealer it would belong to Peugeot uk presumably and would just be left at the franchised dealer because you bought it there. Also isn't it law now that all cars must be insured unless SORN?0

Have you written to them pen and paper? Proof you have terminated0

You should phone the BVRLA on Monday and ask them to intervene or at least get a straightaway answer on the termination policy from Peugeot.
I work at a lease co, they should easily be able to email you where they want the vehicle returned to.
In terms of insurance you should only be asked to insure it until your revised termination date. I think the issue here is that they aren't acknowledging your right to terminate which they should be acknowledging in writing with either a cost or a no charge early termination notice.
If you simply rock up at a dealer without this piece, the early termination, being fixed they are correct you are still liable to insure it to protect their asset until such time as it is in the possession of the lease company. Dealers will not insure your car.0 -
Interesting day yesterday. I have had emails with letter attachments in PDF format acknowledging termination but they do not quote a date. I had an email from collections saying they will contact me on Monday to arrange collection. I asked if this would be before the 21st and they didn't give a clear answer, just that it would be discussed Monday.
I asked if I could leave it at the dealers and they said I could and that was not a problem. I am concerned I have no confirmation on dates other then the email I sent on the 2nd and their auto acknowledgement.
So I contacted the dealer I got the car from. I have to say they have been terrifically helpful, always calling back when they say and offering to liaise with financial services. Now when I asked about the insurance issue I was told by the Business Manager that I could return the car to them, they receive collections quite often. They will receive the V5 certificate and I will send off section 9, that says the car has been transferred to a dealer. While a V5 certificate is in transit the insurance legislation doesn't apply anyway. They do the visual inspection which would be done by the collection company. On insurance he said he can't understand what has been said by Financial Services. If anything happens to the car whilst at that dealership it is, in his words not mine, "their problem".
Now I have decided that if a collection is not possible before the 21st, I will be taking that car to the dealership on that date. I will be writing a complaint to Peugeot Financial Services and Peugeot Customer Services, copying letters to Watchdog and the BVRLA. I think it is my fault I have been caught with these additional items, but I still think that Just Add Fuel is not communicated accurately. You have to get an MOT, a service, an additional month's insurance and, if I hadn't terminated the agreement early, another month's road tax. So that is not Just Add Fuel.
And the customer service I received from Customer Services and Financial Services has been terrible in comparison to the dealer, who throughout this last couple of months has been really helpful. Granted they gave me the deal in the first place but they could have just shrugged their shoulders and said "can't help you" when it comes to termination.0 -
Very interesting and useful thread. The OH is looking at the Just Add Fuel option tomorrow at a Peugeot dealership in Chichester.
Will definitely make the points you have when we discuss it.2021

Let us know how you get on. If you go for it you'll be getting the car at the same time of year I did and will probably have the same issues on annual servicing and road tax. The simplest route out of it would be to ensure the vehicle element is exactly the same length as the insurance i.e 36 months. It won't get you out of the MOT but you should avoid the service, additional road tax and insurance. However from what they have told me they still won't guarantee a collection before the agreement finishes so you may still end up with them trying to squeeze you!0 -
Hi could you please tell me what happened did it ever get collected?0
