Home Insurance in Flood Risk Area

Options
Hey All,
I've just had the renewal for my home & contents insurance & it has gone up... a lot.
I live in an area that has been deemed a flood risk even though the house has never flooded.
Can anyone recommend some specialist insurers to call? (I've been on the usual comparison sites but they aren't interested.)

If the comparison site are declining you due to the post code rather than previous flood history or proximity to a body of water, then you could try

Make sure that a new insurer will accept the policy before lapsing the old one - ie there are no other issues that they won't insure.
  • Hi, contact the Environment Agency (enquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk) and ask them for an Insurance Related Request. They will supply you with a flood risk report for your postcode which you can then supply to your potential insurers that includes the flood risk for your area along with a list of any flood defences etc. May reduce your renewal.
