IE11 problems and MSE Forums

I have problems with MSE and IE11, not only MSE Forums but they cause the most problems on my computer.
So and decided to see if it was my computer and IE11 or not and reinstall Windows 8.1 but so as to not screw up my main computer I tried a different way
I have a spare computer which I pieced together using spare parts .
After being told what I did was impossible/immoral/illegal/ and couldn't be done, I did it.
I changed Windows 8, into Windows 8.1 iso and installed it on a bootable flash drive and tried to install it on this spare computer.
First problem, it didn't accept the windows 8 serial key as I was trying to install windows 8.1 not Windows 8.
After a lot of googling I found a solution and managed to install
Windows 8.1.
Then it complained about not being activated.
So I phoned Microsoft and a robot fixed that for me.
Then I installed IE11.
And get the same problems with this spare computer as I get with my main computer.
Conclusion.
MSE forums do not like working with IE11.

Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:

Try Mozilla Firefox instead of IE.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

What problems are you having? Error messages etc..?0

Ive had nothing but problems with my smileys, links etc since I downloaded my Windows updates.
I did a system restore yesterday which put it back to how it was and it worked fine. I could use smileys, links and quotes etc but I downloaded the Windows update again this morning and I'm having the same problems that I had before. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. This has been discussed before. The workaround (until the forum software MSE uses is updated to be compliant with IE11) is to click the 'Switch Editor Mode' button in the top right hand corner of the Message window.... Try Mozilla Firefox instead of IE.
But that doesn't fix the IE11 problems, does it?
Why does everybody suggest another browser?
Because nobody has a clue how to fix IE11?
The work around still does not explain why IE11 does not work.Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -

IE11 works.
Some of the functionality of this forum is not compatible with IE11.
There is no "fix" required for IE11.
The fix is required on the forum software.
So, you're right, nobody has a clue how to fix IE11... because it's not broken.
That's why I would suggest using a browser that this forum is compatible with.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Sounds as though smileys won't be needed much!0

There are many other reasons that IE should not be used besides incompatibility with this forum. Firefox is a safer browser and has many great add-ons.0
