Sold houses showing for sale in Rightmove

There are many houses in Rightmove, which are actually sold/STC but this is only revealed when you call the EA.
Isn't there any legal responsibility for EAs to mark listings as Sold STC?
They are probably trying to fish customers who ring them up for enquiring a particular house and then being told that is sold but we have something else...

Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.

does it have to be a conspiracy?
can't it just be that updating listings for things they have already sold is not a particularly high priority0 -
In that case they could have told me those were sold before taking my life's history!Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

We sold our house two months ago and it's still showing for sale on Right Move!
The people who offered for our house were very upset because the joint agent would not show it as 'Sale Agreed' and accused us of still trying to market the property. We have asked these agents to remove it at least six times and they have ignored us.
I think the agents must pay a fee to Right Move for each property listed and are loath to remove it until they get there moneys worth so you are most probably right in thinking they are trying to fish customers.0
