Virgin Media......Again!!!!!

Whits
So here we are again, Virgin Media supplying a crap service.
Can anyone tell me my rights on this, please bear with me on this
Moved house in december last year, had broadband and phone installed at new property and had old property disconnected, rang up to make sure that as I wasn't receiving a bill everything was ok.
Turns out that my old address had not been disconnected, my new one had
After many, many mobile calls, they finally sent a tech out and everything was ok.
I then received the 3 for £30 offer for digital tv and thought why not.
And then things went downhill
I've just had a really crappy phone conversation with them regarding their inability to stick to the contract that I've signed with them. They also tell me that they can't send a tech out until wednesday, however, I'm working on wednesday and we can't reach a suitable agreement on a tech appearing for 2 months
What I'd like to know is, do I have any rights under the Sales of Goods act or the Distance Selling Regulations or anything else?
They keep telling me that they'll compensate me, but I don't want to work to their timetables, I pay for a service and I want it to bloody well work
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

I've just canceled with eclipse for a similar reason and they're trying to get £47 out of me for being under 12months. Think it may be covered by supply of goods and services act but not 100%.0
