Covering small damp patch

I have a small damp patch on the bedroom ceiling that I need to cover. Basically the roof had a leak which is now fixed which dripped through to the bedroom ceiling. The patch is around 10cm diameter and has spots of black mould on it. The ceiling is emulsioned plasterboard. Do I need to do anything special besides cleaning it to treat this before painting over it?

So long as the cause has been sorted, as you say it has, then you should be OK to clean it, allow it to dry thoroughly then paint. For a belt 'n' braces approach a quick spray with stain block wouldn't go amiss, something like this :
