Just what we need- can you do anything to help the Canadian Dollar recover a bit in the next three to four weeks too- No?

Ach well it was worth asking- you've done everything else.

There's no mention of the magnificent India either  that they have included Pakistani Rupees doesn't it beg the question - how dare :D

The Indian Rupee is not officially convertible outside India - as such nobody based in the UK is allowed to sell/buy Indian currency or travellers cheques.

The Travel Money Maximiser only searches online providers; primarily as it's a web tool and these are much easier to search. Luckily though, web providers almost always undercut their high street equivalents. So get a web quote and go and pick your currency up, and you usually get more than just walking into the same branch and getting the cash.

It's worth noting, there are a few bureaux without websites that will beat it marginally. These are commonly small establishments, based in areas which get huge amounts of overseas visitors, where competition on rates is very high - such as Bayswater in West London. If you live near these it's worth checking them out. If any do set up websites and delivering currency, they'll be added to the Maximiser.
Why is LinkFX and Thomasexchangeglobal not included?

The best rate on the checker was onlinefx @ 1.44 Euro/£ today

Both the above mentioned beat it with a rate @ 1.465 Euro/£ today

Quite a difference on a couple of grand

What's interesting is that even when the same rate is claimed the total cost can differ once delivery costs are removed - eg on €1000 both Lloyds & Natwest claim the same rate but Lloyds is cheaper

    Excellent point.

Also, if you can wait 31 days, Crown Currency Exchange will give you the Interbank rate, ($1.99 yesterday) for a small commission.....worthwhile doing if youre doing a few grand.

I just looked up Canadian Dollars and Thomasexchangeglobal was at the top of the list. It was an amazingly good rate.

    Unfortunately that's a glitch!

It's picking up their 'Buy' rate, not their 'Sell' rate. Sell rate is 2.0750. Buy rate is 2.20750.

    Sorry to disappoint!

    Still the best rate though!

EDIT: In fact the checker is picking up ALL of Thomasexchangeglobal's BUY rates - Martin you need to fix this!

i prefer this site for comparing travel money, much easier on the eye and no need to input anything, and a lot more companies included as well
