For all of you going to CamberSands:
Yes, it's down a loooooonnnnnngggggg winding road in the middle of nowhere
Yes, the chalets are in poor state of repair
Yes, the main building is in poor state of repair
Yes, my wife did end up with someone's toenail in her mouth whilst in the swimming pool
Yes, the beach in Camber ,5 minutes walk out the back gate, is absolutely
fan BLOODY tastic
Yes, the local store just outside the gate is reasonably priced
Yes, IT'S FREE accomadation, just use the chalet to sleep & wash in
I am going back to Camber in July for the 3rd year running, this year is a mixture of deals, 7 nights accommadation = £60
If you get the weather & visit the beach, you will fall in love with the place
Last year we used it as a base & went to Hastings, Battle etc.
Remember, even a SuperSaver Travelodge room for 4 nights for 4 nights would cost you £60,
Pontins do lay on kids stuff mostly for free during the day & up until 7 or 8 at night, they also have a swimming pool and playground equipment as well0 -
Booked to go to Brean Sands. I've had a look on the website and all the pics look like pictures rather than actual photos! Has anyone been before? If so can you let us know what it's like?
Thanks0 -
Has anyone booked this online? Or wait till morning now?I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0

Hi,
I tried online first but it tells you to ring as the code can't be accepted online!
Good Luck!0 -
I have booked for Brean Sands - from Cardiff to Burham on Sea for my family one adult and 3 kids is only £24.60 return - which is very reasonable.
Our family is 2 adults and 4 kiddies but DD1 did the kevin and perry huffy thing and said she didn't want to go and looking at OH's shift pattern I doubt he would get the time off so it will be me and 3 kiddies as long as my boss authorises my time off
Originally, I did try to book for all 6 of us but they wanted an extra supplement of £171 so I thought I'd go for the freebie option.
Great find - thanks OP

phil/helen I have been to Bream sands pontins with the kids a few years ago on a sun holiday. The kids loved it. They much preffered it to butlins as it is smaller and easier quieter to find your way around. The beach is nice. i sont know if they still do it but my DD went on a pony ride along the beach for about an hour and it only cost about a couple of quid. We foundthe evening entertainment very good though it may be different now. have a lovely time. I am just going to check my shifts to see if I can get a weekend in.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Were fresh back from Prestatyn
The accom was very run down but we just used it to rest our head.
You get a free booklet in your welcome pack of money off vouchers which are well worth it. And should you loose (erm spend them all) by mistage go and ask for one at reception.
Electric cards are brought from the reception area for £1 a go and you get one free in your welcome pack. It cost us 11p to boil the kettle and 56p for a shower of electric.
Savings can be made on alcohol with the vouchers I mentioned and also theres a great offer for kids drinks. You buy them a cup for £1.59p and refils are 59p or free with these vouchers.
They do come and check your electric metre before you leave to make sure you havent left it on emergency credit.
They do not give out kets till 4pm and they do this in 3 coloured lines in the main hall. I stayed clear and let everyone fight in a q till it went then swanned up and got me keys
The kitchen equipment is very basic take a knife with you a cheese grater if youll be needing one and a frying pan
We did eat a chip shop meal from the onsite chippes. Dont do it it was awful Tesco value frozen chips im sure they were
Would I go again yes and for free is even better
Feel free to pm if you want any more info
The Welsh mountain zoo is nearby and you can pay with Tesco clubcard vouchers. Its quite a small zoo but was a nice day. Chester zoo is a short car ride and theres some childrens free coupons about
The site shop is very expensive so take 'goodies' with you
Enjoy your holidays!2007 is my getting slim year
