Only just saw your post so it may be too late to help you but I thought i would reply in case the info could be useful to anyone else too.
Prestatyn has 3 beaches, the nearest is just behind Pontins and is just a few minutes walk from the camps main gate. It is beautiful! but there is nothing there at all. Not even a shop for a coffee/bucket and spade ect. So if visiting this (and I recommend it) take everything you might need.
The second beach is called Central beach and can be walked from the first beach by strolling along a concrete promonade and this has facilities called The Nova Centre. Cafe/resturant arcade, indoor swimming pool (I think) but its is very rundown.
I cannot comment on the furthest beach called Ffirth beach but I have been told facilities wise is is the best of the three. We did try to walk to it but it was too far and it threw it down with rain so we called it off.
Also too mention is that there is a bus (open topper sometimes) that connects Pontins with Presatyn town, the beaches, and I think it goes to Rhyl.

My friend has just booked cambersands too on the 23 July so theyare still available. Do you say what date you want to go and where? Try saying 23 july at Camber sands and it should go through ok. Thats if is that date and camp site is ok for you
