Just got back from our 4 days at Camber Sands & had a fabulous time - my kids cried when we had to leave! :rotfl:

Found we'd been upgraded to classic when we got there - chalet was lovely & clean & had free electricity too! Camp could do with a makeover as its looking "tired" (aren't we all), but they work hard to keep everywhere clean & tidy & there was lots of green spaces for the kids to play. The swimming pool was much cleaner than our local leisure centre, and all the staff were helpful & friendly!

The entertainment was great for the kids, but my 2 wouldn't dance with me as they were too embarrassed. Sure the evenings will be better when the smoking ban comes in! Didn't get disturbed by anyone sumbling back from the pub either!

I took a spare duvet & was so glad - the sofa bed was uncomfortable so I slept on the mattress & the duvet supplied, under my own duvet - perfect! Also took kids scooters, badminton, football...:rolleyes:

I would also take a toaster, a decent size mug if you need lots of tea in the morning & a lamp (had to get out of bed to turn the light off) If you need darkness to sleep then take an eye mask as the curtains are very thin!

Big :grouphug: to the OP - should have cost us £189! Was resigned to not having a holiday this year! Hope you all enjoy your holidays as much as we did! :j We will go back next year if funds allow (or we get another freebie:T )

I agree, we didnt see a spot of litter anywhere (except all the fag ends around the doors :rolleyes: )

There was a toaster in our room (club apartment at hemsby) but you always have the cooker grill if your desperate!
we normally take our own mugs (or buy from the shop if we forget) but this time they were not needed, the mugs were a good size
sounds like you were in the front room but there are light switches next to the bed in the bedrooms so you dont have to get up to turn them off,
and yes the curtains are thin (but i dont mind that.. i hate sleeping in the dark dark )

Thanks for the tips JustKeepSwimming. We're off to Camber Sands tomorrow. Excited but nervous as this is the first time away with our 5 month old daughter!

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted too say that I have just arrived home from Wales and it was FAB.
Even the weather was better than expected!!! The chalet was clean and tidy, although the carpet was a bit stained so made sure kids kept their feet covered.
Staff were so friendly and helpful and although the place did show its age a little they more than made up for it.

Thanks again a million times for this opportunity to go on a short break---it has made my year!!
Hope everyone else who is fortunate to be going enjoys it as much as we did.
